These folks are incredible. Endorsed by Andrew Bird (!!?!!), the Accidentals are embraced by the Mitten and already far beyond. Their first song I heard was 'The Silence' -- something I was concurrently seeking apart from and through severe depression and anxiety -- and the honesty hits home. I was raised about an hour north of TC, and have family there still. That's the beauty and core truth of these beautiful people and captivating trio. Their lyrics find the child and adult in all of us, and nestle in, never to be forgotten.

Introduced to this very outstanding group by friends of my wife and myself. The first concert we attended was at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Very pleased. I hope to see their concert at Bell's Brewery in | Kalamazoo, MI
I currently own "Tangled Red and Blue" and "Bittersweet" Currently my favorite so far. Thank You for recording "Michigan and Again". It makes us proud.

about
You know that feeling of coming home. We wrote Michigan about coming home, about the amazing experience of touring the countryside, celebrating the beauty, meeting amazing people, sleeping anywhere, eating anything, making music everywhere, and then...coming home to breathe.
lyrics
We lay down in the grass
In our nest of sleeping bags
Breathing in the shallow canyon air
The water, 45 degrees
We wade out to the knees
And soak to the sleeves in a semi-aquatic prayer
Great state, what state am I in?
Compass roses bloom again
Home of the water, Canada's daughter
Cradled in a crescent moon grin
Michigan and again and again and again and again
Michigan and again and again and again and again
Soft shoulders of sand dunes
Porcupine cactus flowers bloom
In the dust of the devil's empty living room
Salt silts the flattened land
Time like a snake in the sand
Powdered porcelain in a stranger's hand
Great state, what state am I in?
Compass roses bloom again
Home of the water, Canada's daughter
Cradled in a crescent moon grin
Michigan and again and again and again and again
Michigan and again and again and again and again
Looking down to the high five
Grazing ground to hear the sound of a heavy sigh
Home is where you left your heart behind
Even fortified fossils dissolve over time
When I came home, I went down to the lake
My dad told me he counts up the days
And when I packed my bags, coffee stains of jet lag
There were conifers lining the driveway, whispering
"Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay"
Great state, what state am I in?
Compass roses bloom again
Home of the water, Canada's daughter
Cradled in a crescent moon grin
Michigan and again and again and again and again (x8)

their songwriting and delivery is so authentic, it really makes me feel like I am there in a room with them maybe with a small group of people, that everything is going to be okay, we can share our hopes and our sorrows with each other. we will love again. youngrichhomeless
A fascinating, appealing record no less “weird” than the rest of her oeuvre, but certainly the most weirdly versatile. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 25, 2022
